Azaria Alon, aged 95 and the Israel Prize winner and co-founder of the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel passed away at his home early on Sunday. A man ahead of his time. RIP.

The Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. announced that in February it will unveil a new powerful laser defense system called Iron Beam, at an upcoming conference in Singapore. When mounted on a fighter jet and fired it will cause the enemy's ass to catch fire first.

Developed in Israel, a revolutionary new algorithm could succeed in prolonging life. Keren Yizhak, a doctoral student at Tel Aviv University’s Blavatnik School of Computer Science, has developed a computer algorithm that predicts which genes can be “turned off” to create the same anti-aging effect as calorie restriction.

On the Al-Jazeera Arabic service, the anchor there asks why Hezbollah locate themselves in civilian areas and why do they and Arab forces deliberately target civilians? He goes on: “Why don’t they learn from the Israeli army which tries, through great efforts, to avoid shelling areas populated by civilians?" 
The biased bastards at the BBC/CNN et al could learn a lesson about honest reporting!

She directs large-scale cannabis training for the Israeli government’s state-supported, discreet, successful and expanding medical cannabis distribution center, Mechar. It began as a small program serving about 1,800 people from 2008-2009. Today, supplied by eight farms located all over Israel, the program distributes cannabis to 12,000 patients. Why all the who-ha about medical cannabis when opiates have been used forever, is a friggin' mystery!
