As a go-between, she relayed the gunman's demands that police refrain from using their radios and "stop all movement," or else the suspect would shoot. By the end -- with police themselves having never directly talked to him -- Tuff and the gunman were talking about where he would put his weapon, how he'd empty his pockets and where he'd lie down before authorities could come and get him. Given that the Muslim population is expanding at record levels in Europe, there is an incisive article in this month's issue of Mosaic Magazine entitled, "You Only Live Twice," by French journalist Michael Gurfinkiel, which posits that the end of European Jewish life is on the horizon. He writes, "The fact is that many European Muslims subscribe to an unreconstructed form of anti-semitism that is prevalent in the Muslim world at large and are impervious to any kind of Holocaust-related education. Any clear-sighted and sensible person who has a sense of history would understand that this is the time to get out."
