THE LIGHTING TREES ARE COMING...

(Photo: Copyright Control)
Imagine a world where streetlamps no longer run on electricity. Or rather, they no longer exist, since they are replaced by trees that emit light. This alien-like scenario is not something out of sci-fi movie Avatar – it is actually a Kickstarter project by Israeli-American company Genome Compiler – and it’s well on its way to reality. Using the company’s technology, Genome Compiler will synthesize the DNA of an Arabidopsis plant with genes from a firefly that cause natural luminosity. Project manager Anthony Evans calls the project a “first step in creating sustainable natural lighting.”

The shadowy group has changed its tactics over the past two years, morphing from a sophisticated intelligence agency that empowered other groups to do its bidding to a rather haphazard perpetrator of violent attacks in its own right mainly against Western and Israeli targets. Two attacks against Israeli diplomats were carried out on Feb. 13, 2012, when magnetized bombs were attached to cars in Tbilisi, Georgia, and New Delhi, India. The Georgian bomb was defused, while the Indian explosive went off and injured the wife of an Israeli attaché, her driver and bystanders. Yet another plot targeting Israelis was thwarted the next day in Bangkok, Thailand.

APARTHEID? YEP!

OBAMA'S BENGHAZI-GATE.

Fact:The Libyan militia group that the State Department hired to defend its embattled diplomatic mission in Benghazi had clear al-Qaida sympathies, and had prominently displayed the al-Qaida flag on a Facebook page for months before the deadly attack.
Fact: That organization, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade, was paid by the U.S. government to provide security at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.
Fact: From June 2011 to July 2012, Eric Nordstrom, the Regional Security Officer for Libya at the time, documented over 200 security threats and violent incidents threatening to U.S. personnel in Libya. Some 50 of those incidents occurred in Benghazi. Yet despite those threats, repeated requests for additional security from the mission went unheeded by the State Department.

THE GABRIEL STONE.

An ancient stone with mysterious Hebrew writing and featuring the archangel Gabriel is going on display in Jerusalem as scholars debate the inscription's meaning.
The so-called Gabriel Stone, features an unknown prophetic text from the time of the Second Jewish Temple. The tablet made a splash in 2008 when an Israeli scholar theorized the inscription would revolutionize the understanding of early Christianity, claiming it referenced a messianic resurrection pre-dating Jesus. Curators at the Israel Museum said on Tuesday that it's the most important inscription found in the area since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND BIG BANGS...

The Arabs: taking time out from business as usual - committing genocide in Africa or the Shiite v Sunni killing league - are doing their usual demented infant act. Like two year olds at the check out when mommy won't buy them a choc bar, they're having a tantrum. Throwing themselves on the floor demanding the UN security council find out who blew up their cuddly camel. Seemingly, something went bang in Syria and the hardware bound for Iran's pet monkeys in Lebanon, aka Hezbollah, is no more. Oh dear...
