Obama blinked. The United States put the playbook on hold, cancelled a missile test and began clumsily urging everyone to tone down the rhetoric to avoid a war. The game of chicken had ended with Obama, Kerry and Hagel squawking in a corner. Obama’s smaller-and-smarter strategy took armed force off the table against any state with a strong enough military and made his bluffs preemptively worthless.

New York Democratic Rep. Jose Serrano - better known as Mr Thick-O - reintroduced a bill in Congress on Friday to repeal the 22nd Amendment, which places term limits on the U.S. presidency. The bill, which has been referred to committee, would allow Obama to become the first president since Franklin Roosevelt to seek a third term in office. If successful, the USA would soon become a banana republic...without the bananas!

THE HAGUE – Royal Dutch Shell declined to comment on reports that it will divest its stake in an Australian energy firm Woodside because of that firm’s investment in Israel’s gas fields. Last year, Shell said that involvement with them was “incompatible” with Shell’s “long-term plans."
