Israel's oil and gas reserves are about equal to Saudi Arabia's total energy reserves and although the first drop of these shale oil reserves has yet to be extracted, Canadian and Russian oil companies are falling over each other to offer their help in doing so. The huge revenues could aid social services and education at home while at the same time, the power that comes with being an energy exporter might benefit Israel abroad. "The discoveries of Israeli oil and natural gas are certain to change the economic position for the State of Israel," said Energy and Water Minister Uzi Landau.

NAIVETE AHEAD!

Christians and others who reach out to Muslims in interfaith efforts frequently do so with the best of intentions. Unfortunately, there’s an old saying, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Naivete characterizes so much of Christian and liberal Jewish interfaith outreach efforts to Muslims. FACT:The Muslim Public Affairs Council is a Muslim Brotherhood legacy organization with a history of making statements defending terrorists and terrorist organizations like HAMAS. CAIR likewise, is a front group for the Islamist agenda. Back in 1991, the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood strategy document defined its “work in America as a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.” Nothing has changed. Stealth jihad continues to be their vehicle of choice. So...how come Barack Hussein Obama became the best friend of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, even as President Mohamed Morsi was asserting dictatorial powers, running rape chambers and his followers beating up secular anti-Islamist liberals in the streets of Cairo? Go figure it out!

RAVI SHANKAR DIES.

Ravi Shankar, Indian sitar maestro has died. He was aged 92. His family said he had been admitted to the Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego, USA last week, but had failed to recover fully from surgery. Shankar gained widespread international recognition through his association with The Beatles. George Harrison once called Shankar "the godfather of world music". Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh described him as a "national treasure and global ambassador of India's cultural heritage". Giles Martin, the son of Sir George Martin, famed producer of almost all of The Beatles' records. "I'm very sad to hear of his death," he said. "A beautiful, worldly man with warmth and talent. I bet George is happy to see him again," he said referring to George Harrison who died in 2001.

NOT ALL BAD NEWS FOR ISRAEL.

The Palestinians having their own state is not all glooms-ville. Their present leadership would have to begin acting as a "state" with all the responsibility which that entails, and not a bunch of psycho hoodlums they presently are. Historically, Israel has always found it much easier dealing with it's Arab neighbors when they are a state - whither in war or cold peace. Continually attempting to contain Fatah/Hamas is a no brainer. The present Egyptian situation is an interesting example of how a future Pali State could evolve. At first, divided and at each other's throats with little time to deal with an other agenda. But...attempting to run a country is a mite different than their usual biz and eventually reasonable folk among them might emerge. Perhaps Egypt's democrats will eventually win through and show the way; sending the 7th century Mullahs back to the Mosques. If - and it's a big if - that eventually comes to pass, then an Arab 21st century mind set could actually bring about real security and peace for all in the region. The Mickey Mouse Oslo peace parchment that Israel signed onto, was just that; for until the Arabs win their own battles for a an open, tolerant society, there can be no peace for anyone, least of all them.

SYRIA: THE CHEMICAL ALLEY SOON TO BE OUT OF CONTROL!

U.S. intelligence agencies say that they haven't detected any new steps by the Syrian government to prepare chemical weapons for possible use, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Tuesday. The Obama administration last week warned that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad would face "consequences" if the government used chemical weapons. Obama has run out of red ink, having posted more red lines than a bankrupt. Meanwhile, get this! He and Lenny Pancake-Panetta are having a rag tag assortment of Syrian rebels trained to oversee the Syrian chemical weapons! Perhaps they are oblivious to a meeting of 30 of the rebel leaders which took place very recently in Turkey...70% of them being Muslim Brotherhood folks or even worse! This is the dangerous shambles you get when you have an Illinois Community Lawyer way out of his depth!
