Iranian news media on Thursday were full of reports that Israel has killed a senior Iranian official. Shateri reportedly oversaw reconstruction in south Lebanon after the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. He had returned to Iran, but was on a visit to Lebanon this week when allegedly he had a foody moment. According to Al Jazeera, Shateri landed in Damascus this week and traveled towards Beirut; but at one point, while he was having a pee and still in Syrian territory, Shateri's vehicle had a puncture and while he waited for a wheel change, chocked on his tenth, crust-less, cucumber sandwich. Iran insisted that Shatei's favorite picnic nibble had been prepared by Mossad agents. Not so. Is he still alive or was he such a greedy boy, wolfing it all down and not sharing, that Commander Haj Hassan Shateri might not now be on his camel to Mecca next year? Only time will tell...
